Overview

EDMI Smart Metering combines two complementary Android applications developed for smart-metering workflows: EDMI Home for viewing electric and gas meter data, and EDMI Commissioning for field installation and device configuration. Together, the applications support the complete smart-metering lifecycle from meter commissioning in the field to accessible consumption monitoring.

The problem

Smart-metering operations require different workflows for field technicians and end users. Installers need reliable tools for discovering, configuring and verifying meters, while end users need a simple way to access their electric and gas consumption data. Both workflows also require reliable communication with connected metering devices.

What I built

Developed complementary Android applications for EDMI smart-metering workflows. The commissioning application supports field installation and device configuration, while the home application presents electric and gas meter data across daily, weekly and monthly periods. Implemented Wi-Fi AP mode and Bluetooth connectivity for communication with smart-meter equipment.

Supported both field technicians and end users through dedicated smart-metering workflows, covering meter commissioning, device connectivity, configuration and ongoing electric and gas consumption monitoring.
