Overview
AI Data Recovery is an Android file recovery application built with Kotlin and XML that scans device storage to help users discover old and potentially recoverable files. The application can identify different media and file types, including photos, videos and audio, and presents discovered content with thumbnails to make large collections easier to review.
The problem
Users can accumulate large amounts of old or difficult-to-find files on their devices, making manual discovery time-consuming. A recovery utility needs to scan available storage efficiently and present potentially recoverable content in a way that makes it easy to identify the required files.
What I built
Developed an Android application using Kotlin and XML that scans device storage with broad file-access capabilities and identifies recoverable content across multiple file types. Added thumbnail generation and list-based results so users can visually review discovered files before selecting content for recovery.
Built a storage-scanning and file recovery experience that helps users discover old photos, videos, audio and other files through categorized results and visual thumbnail previews.
